Arivaca: Life on the Border

The Movement Vision Lab website "brings together grassroots organizers and social justice advocates to share and debate long-term, visionary ideas for the future of our country and our world."

Here is a quote from their site: "We know that, as a country and as a world, we’re all in it together and we’re more than the sum of our parts. That goes for both sides of the border. What would it mean to value everyone equally, no matter where they come from and how they got here? How would you tell America that immigration is about Community Values? "

Movement Vision Lab held a video contest where the above question was presented, and here is the winning video, entitled "Arivaca: Life on the Border", filmed in a border town in Arizona.

Migrations, an International Multimedia Contest on Immigration

The Migr@tions Online Festival runs from October 16th to December 3rd 2008. Migr@tions is a competition showcasing short films and podcasts about the subject of immigration from around the world. Viewers can rate the films, win an Ipod, and help to choose the winner.

The English language site for viewing and rating films is here, and the Spanish version is here.

We at Fronteras Tv are thrilled about this festival and hope that it will bring a greater global understanding to the subject of immigration issues.
